As New York City’s cultural institutions continue to return to in-person events, 92Y is planning to bring back “Fashion Icons With Fern Mallis.”

High fashion was served up downtown before the clock even struck noon (or one could get their hands on coffee!) in the ballroom of Casa Cipriani, as supporters gathered to toast Wes Gordon.

"I think we had the first actual “End of Fashion Week” party – we did a “Blue Jeans and Burgers” party at Rex co-hosted by Cindy, Linda, Christy, and Naomi in, I believe, 1991," said Rabin. "And Fern Mallis let us throw two massive parties to end Fashion Week in the tents in Bryant Park in the early 1990s."

The fashion flock, actors, and old-skool New York celebrities (both Hilton sisters!) partied like it was 2019 last night as Saks Fifth Avenue hosted a party at its restaurant, L’Avenue, for its new fall campaign. The event was co-hosted by Sarah Paulson, who stars in the campaign, and Saks CEO Marc Metrick.

The late great Bill Cunningham is being celebrated once again with a new exhibition of his work,  Experience the Times of Bill Cunningham. The immersive experience opened over the weekend at Live Rocket Studios (home of the former Abercrombie and Fitch store at South Street) with a very Bill Cunningham approved crowd on hand.

People keep asking Iris Apfel what it’s like to be 100, but she tells them it’s only been a few days.

Many people remember exactly where they were when the first plane hit the World Trade Center’s North Tower on September 11, 2001. Harper’s BAZAAR Editor-in-Chief Samira Nasr moderated a panel discussion with four of the subjects from the story titled “Resilience and Remembrance: New York 20 Years After 9/11.”

This month New York Fashion Week has decided to double down on its commitment to celebrate American fashion. After over a year of mostly digital shows and presentations, NYFW is kicking off fashion month with a myriad of in-person events.

Fern Mallis — the original mastermind behind New York Fashion Week — says the return to in-person shows and events has “been successful.” Along with bigger runways, she is also enjoying smaller presentations like one held by designer Phillip Lim.

New York Fashion Week in September 2001 was supposed to be the biggest one yet. Instead, on a bright, clear Tuesday morning, the world changed forever. Twenty years after 9/11, the industry remembers.
